Eskom and energy and chemical company, Sasol, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to "collaboratively discover and study potential potential liquified natural gas (LNG) requirements".

That is according to a joint statement by the two corporations, following the signing ceremony from the MoU on Friday.

"The collaboration aims to ascertain the probable volumes that South Africa demands to establish a feasible LNG import market place, combined with the enabling infrastructure, and will be facilitated by govt-to-federal government relations where important."
